This policy explains how Pravesh Jha (“we”), who runs Ebooklab, handles your personal information. It applies to the website and app at www.ebooklab.site.
1. What we collect
- Account details from Google when you sign in: your name, email address and profile photo.
- Your content: the ideas and answers you type, the plans and chapters we write for you, your edits, design choices, covers and downloads.
- Plan and credit history: which plan you're on, renewal dates, and how you used credits. Dodo Payments shares your subscription status and customer ID with us, never your card details.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser type with each sign-in session, and server logs we use to keep the service working and secure.
2. Why we use it
- To run Ebooklab: sign you in, write and design your ebooks, store them, and create your downloads.
- To manage your plan and credits, and to answer your questions.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse (for example, limiting how many free ebooks are planned), and fix problems.
- To send important messages about your account or these policies. We won't send marketing emails unless you agree to them.
We use your information because we need it to provide the service you signed up for, because we have a legitimate interest in keeping it secure and working, or because the law requires it.
3. Who helps us run Ebooklab
We share information only with the providers below, only to run the service, and they may process it outside your country:
| Provider | What for | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Confirms who you are. We receive your name, email address and profile photo. | |
| OpenRouter, and the AI models it connects to (such as Anthropic and OpenAI) | Writing and covers | Receive your ebook idea, plan and chapter text to write, rewrite and design your ebook. |
| Dodo Payments | Payments (Merchant of Record) | Handles checkout, card details, tax and invoices. We never see or store your card number. |
| Vercel | Website hosting | Runs the Ebooklab website. |
| Railway | Database and background processing | Stores your account and ebooks, and runs the writing and PDF jobs. |
| Cloudflare R2 | File storage | Stores your covers and the files you download. |
About AI providers: to write your ebook, your idea and ebook text are sent to AI models through OpenRouter. Please don't put passwords, health records or other sensitive personal information into your ebook ideas.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.
4. Cookies and browser storage
- Sign-in cookies keep you logged in. They're required for the app to work.
- A preference cookie remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar.
- Browser storage holds small things on your device, like the idea you typed before signing in, and whether you've seen a welcome message.
We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and ebooks while your account is open, so you can come back to them. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your ebooks, files and account details within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as payment records (which Dodo Payments also keeps as the seller). Server logs are kept for a short time for security.
6. Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your ebooks in the app anytime. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, or delete your account. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe, the CCPA in California, or the DPDP Act in India), you may have more rights, such as objecting to some uses or complaining to a data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email support@ebooklab.site. We'll reply within 30 days.
7. Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that keep each person's ebooks private to them, and limited, scoped access keys for our providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you.
8. Children
Ebooklab is for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
